What does a modular kitchen cost in Bangalore?

The honest answer is that nobody can quote your kitchen without measuring it. What we can do is explain exactly what moves the number, so that when you collect quotes you can tell the difference between a good price and a cheap specification.

The short version

Two quotes for the same kitchen can differ by a large margin and both be honest. The difference is almost always the carcass material and the hardware brand — the two things you cannot change later without taking the kitchen apart. Compare specifications, not totals.

The six things that decide your price

01Carcass material — the biggest single factor

The carcass is the box behind the shutters, and it decides how long the kitchen lasts. BWP or BWR marine-grade plywood handles Bangalore humidity and the inevitable leak under the sink. MDF and particle board quotes come in noticeably cheaper and swell permanently once water reaches them. If one quote is far below the others, this is usually why. Ask for the grade and the brand in writing.

02Shutter finish

Laminate is the workhorse and the most economical. Acrylic gives a high-gloss, seamless look at a premium. PU paint allows any colour but costs more in labour. Membrane and veneer sit in between. The same kitchen in acrylic rather than laminate can move the total substantially, with no change to the layout.

03Hardware — where cheap quotes hide

Hinges, channels and lift-ups are opened thousands of times. Branded soft-close hardware from Hettich, Hafele, Ebco or Blum carries a warranty and keeps working. Unbranded hardware is the most common way a quote is made to look competitive, and it is the first thing to fail. Always ask which brand, and get it named on the quotation.

04Countertop

Granite remains the practical default in Bangalore. Quartz costs more and resists staining better. Nano white and Corian sit at the top. Countertop is usually quoted per running foot, so a longer platform changes the figure directly.

05Accessories and internal fittings

Tandem drawers, bottle pull-outs, corner carousels, cutlery organisers, tall unit pull-outs and wicker baskets are each priced individually. A kitchen loaded with accessories can cost considerably more than the same carcass with plain shelves. This is the easiest line to adjust if you need to bring a quote down.

06Size and layout

Modular work is quoted largely by running feet of base and wall units. An L-shape in a compact apartment uses far less material than a U-shape or an island in an independent house. Lofts, tall units and a breakfast counter each add running feet.

How to compare two quotes properly

  1. Put them side by side and match the running feet of base, wall and tall units first. If those differ, you are not comparing the same kitchen.
  2. Check the carcass: material, grade and brand. BWP and BWR are not the same as commercial ply, MDF or particle board.
  3. Check the hardware brand by name. "Soft-close" alone means nothing without a manufacturer.
  4. Count the accessories. One quote may include pull-outs the other leaves out.
  5. Confirm what is excluded — electrical points, plumbing shifts, chimney, hob, sink, countertop, and dismantling the old kitchen are often quoted separately.
  6. Get the warranty in writing, with what it covers and for how long.

Why our pricing works out reasonable

We design, manufacture and install from our own workshop in Uttarahalli. There is no sub-contractor margin stacked on top, and no franchise fee built into the quote. That is what lets us specify marine plywood and branded hardware at a price that usually lands below the national chains for the same specification. Every quotation is itemised, so you can see each unit and remove anything you do not want.

Common questions

Why do modular kitchen quotes in Bangalore vary so much?

Almost always because of carcass material and hardware. Two quotes for the same layout can differ widely if one uses BWP plywood with branded soft-close hardware and the other uses MDF with unbranded fittings. The cheaper one often costs more within five years. Compare the specification line by line, not the total at the bottom.

What should an itemised kitchen quote include?

Running feet of base, wall and tall units; carcass material and grade; shutter finish; hardware brand; countertop material and running feet; every accessory listed separately; electrical and plumbing changes; installation; and the warranty terms. If any of these is missing, ask before signing.

Is a cheaper modular kitchen worth it?

Only if the specification is genuinely equivalent. The savings in a low quote usually come from the carcass and the hardware, which are the two things you cannot upgrade later without dismantling the kitchen. Shutter finish and accessories, by contrast, are reasonable places to economise.

How long does a modular kitchen take in Bangalore?

From design approval, manufacturing and installation typically run a few weeks. Because we manufacture in our own workshop in Uttarahalli rather than outsourcing, we commit to a handover date in writing before work begins.
